Artistic City Of Florence Where The Ponte Vecchio Crosses The River Arno.
This week we have been staying in the Italian city of Florence. The resort we are staying at in Florence is a camp site where there are sites for tents but we are staying in a mobile home. The pool here in Florence is REALLY shallow and full of Dutch people and we also have to wear swimming hats! Yesterday we went in to Florence for the day. The city of Florence is very artistic and everything is colour co-ordinated and decorated with flowers. All the rooftops in Florence are a reddish colour which we saw in full effect when we climbed to the top of the very high cathedral dome in the centre of Florence. We also visited the 'Ponte Vecchio' which is a very famous bridge in Florence, it is covered in jewellery shops and flowers. The ice cream in Florence is really nice and helps to cool us down a lot, its probably better than going in the pool! There are many posh hotels in Florence, so I wouldn't mind trying the ice cream in those! I will write to you again next week from Rome! Have a good week.

This covered bridge in Florence houses many jewelery shops, and shops of goldsmiths, and at the time the photo was taken, an Italian man downriver, was shovelling silt from the river bed onto a screen, hoping to recover lost pieces of value from the bridge shops and workshops.
