Will The Camera Ever Become Obsolete In Future Years?
A cousin brought his Brownie Box Camera to take some family photographs of us when we were children. It was the first time we had seen a camera, let alone hold one. He took the film out of the camera and developed it himself, then when he brought the photographs for the family to see, we thought the camera was the most important invention in the world! In much later years a different camera was bought ready for a visit to Vietnam. This new camera was an EOS camera using APS film; the problems of loading film into cameras was thus eliminated. As years went by new camera systems were developed, so the EOS camera was used as part-exchange, for a digital camera, a Canon Power Shot G5, just before a visit to the Shaolin Temple; the use of film was eliminated. It seemed like wonders would never cease, until a friend bought a different digital camera that wasn't much bigger than a packet of cigarettes!
Now even mobile phones are also cameras, so what other developments can take place? May be, in years to come, even cameras will become obsolete. Perhaps a very special photographic paper will be developed, and when we concentrate our minds and look at the paper, the image we are thinking about will be printed on the paper. Is anything impossible?

The advantage of using a digital camera, is that there is no processing or printing involved. A photo can be taken with a digital camera, and within minutes of taking the photograph, the image can be uploaded onto the internet and viewed in most countries of the world.
