Yangtze River Cruise Memories to Last a Lifetime
Our Yangtze River Cruise started in Chungking with a walk down many steps to the Yangtze River landing stage, to board the "White Emperor", that would take us on its maiden voyage for a Yangtze River Cruise to Wuhan.
That Yangtze River Cruise was an exciting cruise lasting two days and one night, passing other boats and giving us an opportunity to marvel at the ever changing scenery. What was seen during the Yangtze River Cruise raised many unanswered questions. Why was a Chinese Pagoda perched on the cliff tops of the Yangtze River ? Why were houses and flats built high up on opposite sides of a side gorge ?
When our Yangtze River cruise boat approached the Three Gorges
in the early morning of the second day, the turbulent waters of the Yangtze River looked like liquid gold. Safely through the Three Gorges, our Yangtze river cruise boat passed through the Lock of the Gezhouba Dam, the first dam to tame the mighty Yangtze River.
