Safety of Workers Requires Secure Scaffolding.

To see a building encased in bamboo scaffolding is slowly becoming a rare sight as the scaffolding tubes of aluminium or steel are used instead. Although the scaffolding is only a temporary means of working above ground level, the scaffolding needs to be secure for the safety of the people using it. For the bamboo scaffolding, lengths of thick bamboo might be used for the uprights and bamboo of lesser diameter for the scaffolding cross members and braces. Workers using the bamboo scaffolding seemed to do so with as much confidence as the workers on the tubular scaffolding of the present day.
