Shaolin Temple: Post and Beam Construction Work on New Buildings.
Shaolin Temple building workers demolish halls to replace with new. The modernization of the Shaolin Temple is planned to provide better conditions for the Shaolin Monks and for visitors to the Temple. The building of the new Shaolin Halls involves post and beam construction by skilled craftsmen using many of the ancient methods of their ancestors. Carpenters work with hand tools preparing felled timbers for posts and beams for the new halls at the Shaolin Temple. Carved wooden heads of Chinese dragons are incorporated into the roof timbers of the halls.
