Pictures Of People In China: Friends of People Young Or Old.
**
**
Young and old people In Longzhou, couples In Beijing, people sleeping and friends talking and laughing. A web page with pictures of people, family or/and friends who are happy, 'Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone!' Young and old people, rich or poor, all have one aim in life, to be happy, but being happy means different things to different people. Even the most ruthless dictators find happiness in their lives albeit a source of cruelty and suffering to others. Even the poorest of children experience happiness in their lives, through the love of their parents. Old people and young people share that desire to be happy throughout their lives, a happiness made greater when shared with friends, real or imaginary.

Ming, in these pictures of people, was one of the drivers of the police jeep we were using to get around Longzhou and the surrounding district. Travelling with friends away from the usual tourist sites we met people of different ages and of different means. This picture was taken when we went to visit a Chinese school, on our way to the border town of Xui Kou.

| One day we went to visit Zhong's Grandma, shown in the pictures of people, who was 80 years of age at the time of our visit. When we arrived she was busy finely chopping ingredients used in Chinese medicine. Her open fronted shop was stacked with bamboo ware, and it was one of many such shops in the narrow street. Whenever we went to visit Grandma she was always busy; sometimes rearranging the baskets and other bamboo ware in her shop, sometimes preparing Chinese medicine, and sometimes just talking to friends who had called in to visit her. Grandma was one of those old people for whom younger people had a great deal of love and respect. |

| Pictures of people eating in the park near the rear entrance to the Temple Of Heaven in Beijing. Nearby there was a small cabin selling Chinese food in polystyrene containers. The used containers and empty drink cans were regularly collected by women, to be recycled. Wherever there are people, young or old, who are gathered or attracted to public places, it is more likely than not that there will be other people who will have set up restaurants or snack bars to feed them. While we were sitting on the benches after our visit to the Temple of heaven, we soon became aware of the savoury smell of cooking food in the air from a snack bar nearby.
People of all ages were walking past us holding containers in their hands, from which they were using chopsticks to eat their snacks. They were certainly happy people whatever their age, just enjoying a snack together whilst they walked through the park.

| Pictures of People Talking: In the background can be seen the faded color of part of the wall of the Forbidden City which we passed on our way to the section renamed the Workers' Palace. These talking people appeared very reluctant to leave each other but whether it was a meeting of old friends or a casual encounter of two similar natures, is unknown. Whoever these two young people were, they were certainly happy young people with an attraction for each other. |

| Pictures of People Sleeping: After an early start to their working day, hauling goods from the nearby port to the wholesalers in Changsha, Chinese coolies sleep on their handcarts during a mid-day break. Some of the pictures of people sleeping were taken whilst walking through the China streets, but the sleeping people seemed not to be disturbed by passing road traffic nor by the sound of clicking cameras. The Chinese porters with their handcarts stacked high with sacks and boxes from the ships docked in port, were first seen from the bridge over the Xiang River. Leaving the bridge we walked along the tree lined promenade where some people were sleeping on the park benches under the shade of the trees. It was not until we were leaving the riverside to get back to the hotel, that we can across the porters sleeping on their handcarts, and looking quite peaceful.

| Pictures of People Who Are Happy: Chinese boys in pictures of happy people sharing time together. Chinese cousins in the UK, one on a holiday visit from Guangzhou, China, laugh and joke together about nothing in particular, but they are happy. Boys will be boys they say, and most of the time they seem to live in a world of their own! These three boys always seemed to be happy together, happy to be cousins, happy to be friends. Living so far from each other, their time together was something they made the most of, playing games, telling stories, and just being happy in whatever they were doing. |

A friend who supports their own friends through emotional difficulties is a "true friend." This term also denotes a large degree of altruism, in that the true friend often sacrifices something of his or her own (usually their time and resources) in order to help the friend in need. True friends also are known to be very rare. A true friend may not be your best friend but someone who you know will be there for you.
