Unblemished Chrysanthemum Flowers In Changsha Garden
|
|
The Chrysanthemum Garden in the Martyrs' Park Changsha must have been the pride and joy of the workers there, for all the plants looked very healthy and the flowers unblemished. I don't know how many varieties there were, but there certainly was a good selection. Potted plants of one kind or another are found in the homes of most Chinese families. There is one type like bamboo which will grow and flourish in just tap water. What could be simpler ?

Changsha Children At Play In Martyrs' Park
Having completed our tour of the Martyrs' Park we were back at the main entrance where school children, having had their "history lesson" by visiting the Memorial, were enjoying a taste of freedom in their games and races.
Are Chinese children different to the children in your country ?

To Furama Hotel Lobby Changsha For Coffee
|
|
Three young men take coffee with their Boss ! Anyone visiting China for the first time might wonder what service they are likely to receive in the tourist hotels. Zhang and his friends were very proud of the Furama Hotel in which they worked so insisted that we pay a visit, and just as we entered the lobby, we were greeted by their Boss !

Scarcity Of Chinese Mannequins In Shop Windows
Outside the Furama Hotel was this fountain, not switched on at the time, and around which were the models of nude women in their graceful poses. Whether it was a replica of some famous sculpture I did not know, but the faces were certainly not Chinese.
Strangely enough, the male and female mannequins attired in fashionable clothes on display in shop windows always seemed to have Western faces; Chinese mannequins were rarely seen, even though there are many beautiful women in China
