Chinese Women In City Park Where Tall Palm Trees Grow.

Picture of Chinese women in Nanning sitting on park bench surrounded by tropical trees with bare trunks.

Bench in Nanning City Park provides resting place for Chinese women having a snack.

Tall palm trees growing in the city park in Nanning had trunks with smooth bark feeling like concrete to the touch. It was only at the top of the palm trees that leaves grew, but we saw no sign of any fruit to help identity the type of palm tree. The first time we had viewed this type of tree was at the Botanical Gardens on Calabash Island., on a visit to Xishuangbanna but it was a close up view of the trunk with its steel like bark to which we were introduced; we were not able to view the palm tree from a distance, in the same way that we were able to see the palm trees in the Nanning Park.
