Raised Vegetable Beds Of The Boat People In Nanning From Which They Earn A Living.

Picture of raised vegetable beds on the banks of a river in Nanning, with homes of the boat people near banks.

The raised vegetable beds, source of income for the boat people in Nanning, were growing vegetables that all looked well cared for. It is from the raised vegetable beds that crops are eventually harvested and sold. All the vegetable beds that we were able to see from the roadside wall, looked very neat and tidy. There appeared to be not a single weed growing in the raised beds, only vegetables or salad crops. Fresh vegetables are the ones preferred by the Chinese people, so there would certainly be a demand for the crops harvested from these raised vegetable beds, unless the supply exceeded the demand. Anyone looking down at the vegetable beds of the Boat People would be impressed by the obvious care and attention that has been given by them, to the task of growing vegetables.
