| Children of the Yellow Earth, or the Loess Plateau. In China, the Yellow Earth usually refers to the loess plateau in the country's northern part. The plateau is acknowledged as the birthplace of Chinese nationality. The tomb of Emperor Huang, said to be the ancestor of the Chinese people, still locates on the northern Shaanxi province. | The China information on these pages is about a Chinese New Year in Dalian. We went to Dalian for the Chinese New Year celebrations and experienced firecrackers being set off at different times throughout the days and nights of the festival. The cold water swimmers at Dalian celebrated with firecrackers. Firecrackers were set off from the balconies of houses in Dalian and in the streets. |
